Ancient Egyptian mythology was among the earliest to identify world-building and natural occurrences. The pyramids tower to the sky among immense deserts and hot sands, serving as graves for the Nile's pharaohs.
The God of the Death, a child of Osiris and Nephthys, protects the dead's calm. Only genuine souls could enter the Ialu field from Duat, the land of the dead. Before entering the heavenly paradise, Anubis, the highest guardian of the underworld, pronounces a judgment. Only those with pure spirits may achieve tranquility. Others are allocated a fate inside the many levels of the Duat.
In ancient Egypt, mummification was regarded as a holy procedure. The God of mummification, Anubis, ensured that the Ka, or human soul, was not injured. It was thought that if you opened the Ka before the deadline, you would be buried by sand jackals and dragged to Duat, permanently denying you the ability to see Ialu.
Hentianmenti means "the first of the Westerners," or the supreme ruler of all Western deities. The Anubis cult was heavily influential and expanded throughout the Nile Delta. Ritual sculptures were discovered in public plazas and around temples. Carved statues were always placed near the casket.
Anubis statues: then and now
The altar sculpture of Anubis always headed the ceremonial altar near the temple. The temples of Anubis were used for embalming bodies and conducting funeral rites. One of the most famous temples is located at Saqqara, near the ancient city of Memphis. This temple was built around the 3rd millennium BC during the Old Kingdom era.
Egyptian culture has been deeply ingrained in society over the past 200 years, becoming a hallowed and sacred place. For many Nile kids who have relocated to other countries to preserve their heritage, Anubis figurines are part of centuries-old traditions.
