Zeus: The Greek God in Ancient Mythology

Zeus is the highest Olympian, the God of the sky and the thunderer, as per Greek mythology; the offspring of Kronos and Rhea, as well as the father of many gods and legendary figures.

As per the myths, the Greek God and other siblings overpowered the father, Kronos, who was eating his own children, to prevent the prophesized rebellion by sons against him. Zeus let his brothers and sisters take over. Following the victory against the Titans, Zeus divided the power: he received the sky, Poseidon the sea and Hades the underworld.

In Paganism, he was often illustrated with a lightning bolt in his hand or with an eagle (his sacred bird). His images were often accompanied by powerful and majestic attributes.

Why Zeus was important?

      King of the gods. Being the  God of thunder and the sky makes him responsible for keeping the natural world in order.

      Defender of law and order. Zeus is justice and law in the pantheon of antiquity. He is in charge of ensuring that people and gods adhere to moral and legal standards in their behaviour.

      Father of gods and heroes. The most significant god in ancient Greek mythology; is the father of significant gods and heroes including Athena, Apollo, and Hercules.

Altar Sculpture of Zeus at Home

The Zeus statue is made of natural oak wood. The wood carving is protected by an environment-friendly layer of oil and beeswax. Such treatment helps preserve the figure’s smooth and sensitized skin to the touch.

The wooden statue has the following dimensions:

      height: 23 cm;

      width: 9.5 cm/3.5 inches;

      depth: 4 cm.

This carved statue, which can either be placed on a wall or a table, brings mythological art into the house. If you wish to hang it on the wall, fix a bracket at the back to hang it up.

Statuettes of Zeus for in-home use performed several functions:

      Protection. Having a sculpture of a Pagan God would create a barrier that protects homes and brings wealth into the house.

      Moral Compass. The handmade Zeus figurines act as talismans for morality and ethics.

      Deification. The spiritual decor is designed for worship and prayer, to keep up a pious relationship with God, and for help from the deity.

Care Instructions

To maintain the Zeus ritual statue's pristine condition, follow these care guidelines:

      The Greek decor is designed exclusively for indoor use.

      Never wash the deity statue.

      To clean, use a dry cloth, brush or slightly damp cloth for wiping.
