“God prefers humans to angels. Lucifer gets jealous. And then he gets creative, and he tempts and twists a human soul into the very first demon.” Lilith from “Supernatural”.

Secret of the First Wife in a world

According to Jewish folklore, particularly the text "Alphabet of Ben Sira" (8th-10th century AD), Lilith is portrayed as Adam's first wife. Unlike Eve, who was produced from Adam's rib, she is claimed to have been created from the same ground as Adam. Because of this, Lilith came to feel that she was on par with Adam rather than beneath him. As a result, this couple disagreed greatly, particularly when it came to equality and power. Lilith refused to submit to Adam and fled the Garden of Eden. This act of defiance led to her being associated with rebellion, independence, and feminine wisdom.

Another of the earliest references to Lilith is found in ancient Mesopotamian texts. In Sumerian mythology, she is known as Lilith or Lamashtu, the ancient god of wind and storm. Her followers were portrayed as evil spirits who brought harm and disease, especially to mothers and babies.

During the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in Europe, the image of Lilith shifted even more toward demonology. She was often associated with the head of succubi, or very powerful demons, like an Astaroth,  who were so sexy and seductive that they were impossible to resist.

Wooden statue of the first heartbreaker

The first carved statues of Lilith began to appear in the early Middle Ages, around the beginning of the 10th century. The cult of Lilith was the first prototype of the hippie world, but it was not welcomed by the Church. Altar sculptures of Lilith were found in the forests of France and Germany, but their exact location is still being determined today.

Today, wooden statues are considered decorative elements that bring refinement and history. The oak base and wax finish make the statue pleasing to the eye and touch, and its luster is sure to attract the attention of your guests!
